Orly Ferber, 38 mother of two needs an urgent, life-saving heart and liver transplant in the US. Such operations are impossible to undergo in Israel due to lack of local experience. The cost of the operation is $694,000.
Orly Ferber, a 38 mother of 9 was born with a heart defect. From the onset she has been treated at the Beilinson Hospital, where she underwent several operations.
Lately her heart's functioning has deteriorated, which has lead to a generation deterioration in her condition. She was hospitalized in Beilinson, where her physicians reached the conclusion that she can no longer be helped with medicines. The sole solution today is a heart transplant. Tests have shown that her liver will not withstand surgery, which means that she must undergo a joint heart and liver transplant.
Orly's case is complex and cannot be treated in Israel, where doctors lack sufficient experience in such cases. She was recommended the Chop Hospital in Philadelphia, which specializes in double organ transplants in adults.
The cost of the procedure is high and Orly's HMO only partially covers the expenses.
We would be grateful for any support in saving Orly's life.
The cost of the operation is $694,000.
