The President of the state of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres awarded Friends for Health an award for their outstanding volunteering efforts. Following 10 years of volunteering activities, Haverim received the award for the Free Pharmacy project, which delivers free medicine worth millions of shekels to patients across the country.

The ceremony took place at the President's residence in Jerusalem. 12 dignitaries; people and organizations from all population sectors, and who were extraordinarily prominent in their volunteering activities, were given the special award. The award is given to organizations who have made a significant contribution to the country and society in Israel.

Rav Yehiel Landman (z"l), Chairman of Friends for Health, received the award from the President, and said: "Without the active efforts of the friends and volunteers of our organization, we would not have been able to carry on our activities. Our volunteers have earned this award in their tireless striving to improve the lives of people in our society, and I am proud to be part of this initiative."

Rabbi Landman passed away two months following this event.
