Haverim's Children -

A Precious Treasury

"Haverim-Friend for Health's" children are unlike other children. Their limitations isolate them from their 'normative' peers, sometimes forcing them to remain at home for days. Others, in addition to their physical state, cannot speak or communicate properly. They appreciate every ounce of attention and every smile is a treasured prize.

There is nothing more rewarding than giving these children some memorable moments of happiness and fun.

"Friends" works to give as many special moments as possible to thousands of children suffering from a horrific variety of disabilities, diseases and other problems. We have established an educational volunteer system enriching thousands of volunteers – students, youth and adults from all over the country – in an awesome experience of support and encouragement for these unfortunate children.

Haverim's volunteers work in hospitals, children's homes, special schools, rehabilitation frameworks and a whole gamut of Haverim's activities: hikes in Israel and trips abroad, summer camps, fun days, making dreams come true, etc.

While the kids are away enjoying themselves with Haverim, their parents and family have an opportunity to relax and recharge their batteries. It gives them respite from intensive treatment and constant care while secure in the knowledge their children are in safe hands.

Haverim's volunteers are ordinary people from all walks of life, putting their extraordinary goodwill and hearts together to ensure these children and their families can enjoy some really special times in their lives.
