Summer camps- a sea of Love
''At first we were nervous. Each one of us has the tremendous responsibility of caring for a disabled child for 5 days and this includes their well being but also their good mood, fun and smiles, but as soon as we met the children and their parents and saw their exited smiles we were all filled with the power to do it''.

In these simple words our civil service volunteers describe their summer experience - two special summer camps for very special children.
From Jerusalem to the Golan Heights and in every possible way- jeeps. kayaks and boats, there wasn't a single place or activity that the campers did not reach or try under the caring supervision of our volunteers. Our 18-19 year old boys and girls showered the children with love and affection.
Every year we at Haverim conduct dozens of fun activities for sick and handicapped children aged 8-18, trips and shows, concerts and parties, we do everything to put a smile on these children faces. Our summer camps are the highlight of our annual activities and this year we managed to have 2 summer camps for 120 disabled children!

Each camp was a once in a lifetime adventure, jeep trips, kayaking in the Jordan river, a visit to Jerusalem, and much much more. No child was left behind and our dedicated volunteers did everything possible to make sure everyone had a chance to leave their wheelchair or walker behind.
Our civil service girls wrote'' this is a great chance for us to thank everyone who took a part in the camp. Every day is a huge logistic operation and every day the children smiles give us the strength to keep going''
and we want to thank everyone who made this possible.
Our camps are funded on donation s and operated by the goodwill of our volunteers and staff, Thank you for making this possible yet again and for so many children. Our volunteers sum it all up in their own words.
''We'd like to thank the children who took part in both camps, you are amazing! It is a rare honor and pleasure for us to have had this experience with you'.
