Ella is 2 years and 9 months old. About 3 months ago she was diagnosed with leukemia.

During chemotherapy she became infected with a flesh-eating microbe that caused extensive damage to her face. Her doctors had to remove part of her nose and jaw.

Ella is now receiving a specialized and expensive medicine that treats both the microbe and the leukemia. It costs around $100,000.

Beyond this treatment, she will also be requiring plastic surgery to reconstruct her beautiful face.
