Five Year old Haim Eliezer Gelfrin was looking forward to a fun filled summer with his family, but on the night of June 23rd his dreams were shattered and his family's life suffered a huge blow as a fire broke out in the children bedroom in the Gelfrin home.
Little Haim suffered severe burns in 80% of his body, he was rushed to Tel Hashomer hospital near Tel Aviv, but following several consultations with doctors and specialists a decision was made to fly Haim along with a specialized medical team and some family members to the Cincinnati Medical center in Ohio. The center specializes in complex treatment of severe burns and skin grafts.
Haim was flown to Ohio with his father on July 12th.
This tragedy is not the first in the Gelfrin family. In 2009 Haim's aunt and uncle were brutally murdered by terrorists in Mumbai during attack on the Local Habbad house were Rivki, Haim's aunt, and her family were on Habbad mission.
Haim is scheduled to stay at the center for several months as he embarks on the long road to recovery and undergoes treatment and operations
Haim's medical expenses are estimated at some 500,000 USD, His parents request the public kind assistance in raising the necessary funds for his recovery
